Weather is quite pleasant in Bangalore during February, with temperature between 16 - 30 degree celsius and clear skies. Light warm clothing might be necessary.

Guest House

Accommodation will be arranged at St. John's Auditorium Annexe III, opposite to the Koramangala B.D.A. Complex, Koramangala, Bangalore 560 034. This guest house is less than 0.5 kms from the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), which is just round the corner near the "water tank junction", to your right from the Auditorium gate.

Reaching IIA

  • From Bangalore City Railway Station OR Bus Station
    You can take an auto from the prepaid auto counter at City Railway Station/City Bus stand to Koramangala (B.D.A. Complex). The fare is around Rs.120/- (approx. 15 kms)
     
    Bangalore City Buses are also available from City Bus Station, which is just opposite the City Railway Station. Route numbers to Koramangala are: 171, 171H, 340A, 341, 342F, 348, 356C, V356C, V356N, V362B etc.
    Alighting stop: Koramangala Water Tank.
     
  • From Bangalore Cantonment Railway Station
    Auto fare from the pre-paid auto counter at the station should be around Rs. 80/- (approx. 11 kms)
     
  • From Bangalore International Airport (BIAL)
    Pre-paid taxi service is available from the airport. The fare is around Rs. 800/- from the airport to Koramangala B.D.A. Complex (opposite to the St. Johns guest house). Bangalore Mahanagara Transport Corporation (BMTC) operates a good number of buses from BIAL to Koramangala. The route number is BIAS-7 (A/C Volvo / Vayu Vajra), and the fare is Rs. 150/-
