The group is
small and young but an enthusiastic team involving three people who are solely
devoted to this project.

The first being the guide and principal investigator Prof. Jayant Murthy.
He was the one who came up with the idea of having balloon flights at IIA.
He is a professor of Astronomy and Astrophysics at IIA. He obtained his PhD
from The Johns Hopkins University in 1987. His research interest includes
space missions and interstellar dust.
Under his extremely helpful and innovative guidance, an integrated M.Tech-PhD
student of IIA, Sreejith A.G has taken part for this balloon mission as a part
of his M.Tech project. He is a B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
from Mahatma Gandhi University, 2010. Currently doing integrated MTech-PhD
from the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore and working on the design
of the UV detector.
Lastly, Akshata Nayak who is currently working as a Project Trainee at the
Indian Institute of Astrophysics, is a part of this team. She recently joined
IIA for this project. Her basic degree is in Electronics Engineering from
University of Mumbai, 2008 followed by an M.Tech in Astronomy and Space
Engineering from Manipal University, 2011. She works on the control electronics
part of the balloon flight.
