With the deorbiting of INSAT 3B satellite and a substitute not yet up in the sky, ISRO has faced a crunch of bandwidth. ISRO has finally managed to accommodate CREST-IAO link used for HCT operation INSAT-3A till December 15. The realignment of the antenna and bringing up the link is scheduled for November 8, but there is a possibility that it may take a few days beyond this day until the link is stabilized. Remote operation of HCT from CREST will not be possible till such time. However, the engineers at IAO have been undertaking imaging observations using the detailed observing list provided to them, and this will continue until the link is up. The list should include Accurate coordinates (epoch 2000) Filter and exposure time(s) for the filter and any other useful information the proposer wishes to include. The list may be sent to Dorje Angchuk (angchuk at iiap.res.in) with copies to gca and tpp. The data will be copied on CD/DVD and sent to Bangalore. Wishing you good observations, Tushar Prabhu Professor-in-charge, IAO & CREST
