Hanle echelle spectrograph is a fibre-fed, high resolution (R = 30,000 and 60,000), spectrograph for the 2mHCT telescope. It is currently being developed, in collabortion with IRL (Industrial Research Lab, Kiwi Star), New Zealand. The project is funded by Department of Science and Technology (DST), India.

The spectrograph design is a bench mark for compact size, large wavelength coverage and high throughput, based on a white pupil concept. A complete wavelength coverage over 350 - 1000nm, will allow measurement of chemical abundances of key elements of stellar evolution.

The high mechanical stability and double fibre mode will allow measurement of precise radial velocities, essential for programs such as exoplanet studies and astroseismology.
