How to reach Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore


The Bangalore campus of the Indian Insitiute of Astrophysics is situated in 2nd Block, Koramangala, Bangalore-560 034, at the junction of the 17th Main Road and Sarjapur Road.

The main gate opens on the 17th Main Road. The adjoining well known landmarks are the Kendriya Sadan to the south and the water tank (BWSSB) to the north.

From the HAL Airport:
About 11Km; the route is via Domlur- Intemediate Ring Road- Koramangala.

From the Bangalore City Railway Station:
About 10Km; the route is via Hudson Circle- Shanthi Nagar- Hosur Road- St. John's Medical College - Koramangala.

From Bangalore Bus Stand :
The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) operates bus services from Subhash Nagar bus stand (opposite the City Railway Station) to Koramangala. The route numbers are 171, 171H (Blue Colour Buses), J171, 171 (Pushpak Service). BMTC also operates buses from Shivajinagar to Koramangala and the numbers are 166, 164. You will have to alight at the 'water tank' bus stop, cross the road in order to reach IIA.
