Indian Institute of Astrophysics ,  Bangalore   November 12-13, 2007

Rationale:

UKIRT has invited IIA to share the operational cost against guaranteed observing time at the telescope. Many institutions and individuals have shown interest in this proposal suggesting that there is a national interest in participating in this programme. Such a proposal needs to be supported by a strong science case for successful funding. This meeting plans to discuss and collate the thrust science areas of Indian infrared astronomy.
The science talks are planned for 12th and a business meeting on 13th. We plan to have scientific presentations highlighting interesting and important problems in IR astronomy. This will set the stage for discussions and to identify the broad scientific areas we are interested in. At the end of the meeting we plan to consolidate our interest in IR astronomy. This can be used as the science document for the UKIRT proposal.
The participation to this meeting is by invitation. If you are interested to participate in the meeting, please send a mail to purni@iiap.res.in or reddy@iiap.res.in.
