Career and interests : After graduating in Mechanical Engineering from the Government Engineering College, Trichur, Kerala, I worked for two years at the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore with the then Chairman of the Department, Dr.S.Durvasula, in a project sponsored by the Defence Research and Development Laboratory. I joined the Indian Institute of Astrophysics in November 1988 and since then have been working on intsrumentation for Astronomy and Physics.
I am an Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers' (India), Mechanical Engineering Division.
Even though by training I am a Mechanical Engineer, my interest is in Science, particularly BioAstronomy and the Origin of Life, and I never miss an oppurtunity to get involved in Scientific activities.
My other interests include reading, mostly fiction, my favourite author being Alistair MacLean. I am also interested in watching movies like old English classics including the ones of Hitchcock and Science fiction movies, principally the Star Trek series. I am also interested in some traditional art forms of Kerala and their picturisation in movies.
