Philosophical links
Perhaps the Indian philosphical system is the oldest of its kind in the
world. Yet, its significance remains as large now as it was in the hoary
past when Vaanaprasthas retired to the solitude of dense forests to
contemplate on the Reality underlying Nature. Three
prominent Vedantic philosophical schools are generally recognized. Sankara's
Advaita
(or Monism), Sri Madhwacharya's Dvaita
(Dualism) and Sri Ramanuja's
VishishTaadvaita (Qualified Monism). The chief difference between Advaita
and VishishTaadvaita is that the former posits an attributeless universal
consciousness as the material and instrumental cause of the world, whereas
the latter admits attributes. The ultimate Reality acts as the primary and
instrumental cause of the world. I have collected herebelow links to
various web resources of (mostly) VishishTaadvaitic sites.
Divya Desams & Abhimaana Sthalams:
By definition, a DD is a Vishnu sthalam which has been sung about
in at least one paasuram composed by an Azhwar. A non-DD Vishnu sthalam
associated with Acharyas is called Abhimaana Sthalam.
