The European Space Agency’s Gaia mission has been surveying the full sky since July 2014. This survey will be complete to a magnitude of ~20 in G-band for the astrometry and photometry, and to a magnitude of ~16 in G-band for the spectroscopy. The first data release (DR1) was in September 2016 and the second data release (DR2) was in April 2018. Gaia is revolutionizing our understanding of the formation history of the Milky Way and is having a significant impact on other areas of astronomy ranging from solar system objects to quasars. Science results from the Gaia are paving the way for large spectroscopic surveys. Thus, this is the right time to discuss the scientific results from DR1/DR2 and prepare ourselves for the scientific exploitation of the future releases, of which the next is planned in December 2020. In this context, we are organizing an online meeting titled “Gaia Symposium: DR2 and Beyond” from the 2nd - 6th of November 2020. The main aim of the meeting is to discuss some of the interesting results obtained from the Gaia and look beyond.
