Thesis Title
Simultaneous Multi-line Spectropolarimetry of Sunspots
Research Interest

Harsh Mathur is a Ph.D. student at the Indian Institute of Astrophysics working in the field of Solar physics, in particular about the inference of the stratification of the magnetic field from the photosphere to the chromosphere using simultaneous multiline spectropolarimetric observations. He has a keen interest in chromospheric magnetism to better understand chromospheric (coronal) heating problem. To infer the stratification of the magnetic field and thermodynamic parameters in the solar atmosphere from the spectropolarimetric observations, he utilises non-local thermodynamic equilibrium (non-LTE) inversion radiative transfer codes. Additionally, Harsh has a keen interest in instrumentation related to spectropolarimetry.
