| Abstract | The significance of the chromosphere in the localised dynamical plasma processes, as well as mass & energy transport within the solar atmosphere is now widely recognised. In the present talk, we discuss the physics of magnetic and fluid instabilities in the frame-work of various chromospheric magneto-plasma systems and plasma ejecta. We highlight a number of key observational aspects that have helped our understanding of the role of these instabilities on a variety of dynamical processes and heating of the localised solar chromosphere. The potential implications, future trends and outstanding questions related to the chromospheric instabilities are also elucidated. |
