| Title | Overview of Selected Solar Fine-Scale Structures: Chromospheric Spicules and Coronal Jets |
| Abstract | We present an overview of a sub-category of fine-scale features of the Sun, focusing on small-scale jet-like features. Our focus is on spicules, which are primarily chromospheric features, and on coronal jets. Spicules have been observed for over 100 years, while jets have been investigated in detail only since the 1990s. However, recent observational studies and theoretical considerations have revolutionized our view of both phenomena. Here we discuss both the historical context and newer views of these solar features. |
