| Abstract | An important goal of solar physics is to understand the mechanism of sunspot formation on the photosphere. In our recent high resolution simulations of turbulent magneto-convection, we find that the sunspot-like magnetic flux concentrations form on the surface in a self-consistent manner. I will highlight some details of these simulations and will share some new insights on the possible mechanism involved in formation of such concentrations in simulations. |
