Title: Extragalactic star clusters: from the first IIA-CCD images to 3-D spectral images Abstract: The talk would include my reminiscences of IIA as a student in the late eighties, the time when IIA embraced the digital era. I will share with you how the wealth of unique experiences gained during this period have molded my research interests. In the scientific part of my talk, I will review the progress made in the photometric and dynamical evolution of extragalactic star clusters from that era to the present era of 3-D spectral imaging. I will illustrate this progress using two of my recent works, first, on the ionization budget problem of doubly ionized helium around star clusters, and the second, on the evolutionary connection between super star clusters and globular clusters. |
