Title: Ultraviolet Astronomy in India and IIA Abstract: IIA is the seat of UV astronomy in India. A historical account of the developments in UV Astronomy in the country would be sketched, the highlight being the UVIT (Ultraviolet imaging telescope) on Indian astronomical satellite ASTROSAT. Some of the science highlights obtained so far from UVIT would be mentioned. Some of the future plans in the development of UV astronomy, after ASTROSAT mission, would also be mentioned. |
