Projects

  1. Data-Driven Magneto-Hydro Dynamic Simulations of the Solar Active Regions [2022-2023]
This is SERB-DST funded project (SRG scheme) to study the active regions of the sun by data-driven MHD simulations. The goal to mimic the formation of the twisted flux ropes on long time scale as well as the dynamics during transient time scale. Magnetic field observations are the driver of the numerical simulations.

  2. A Study on the Formation and Initiation of Magnetic Flux Ropes [2014-2019]
This is a DST funded project under the name of Inspire Faculty hosted in a research institute. The goal of this project is to study the formation mechanism and eruption process of magnetic flux ropes in the solar atmosphere. In particular, the objectives looks for the questions like: at what stage flux rope formed, what happens during the eruption process, what evolving conditions of magnetic field lead to formation and eruption of flux ropes, how flux rope is stable etc.

  3. Visible Emission Line Coronagraph (VELC) onboard ADITYA-L1
Aditya-L1 is India's first dedicated scientific mission to study the Sun. The Visible Emission Line Coronagraph (VELC) is one of the payloads lead by IIA onboard ADITYA-L1 .

  4. National Large Solar Telescope (NLST)
The NLST is a project to build 2-m class ground-based telescope in Merak. The project is yet to get approval from the Govt.
