Press release for the launch of Kepler mission on 7th March 2009

IIA will participate in the pipeline developed for the AsteroFLAG group, by providing different work packages to analyze data from Kepler mission on solar-like stars oscillations (fitting, frequencies, large spacing, splittings, amplitude, excitation). It will enable us to estimate, with a more accurate way, the age and the radius of the central star of systems hosting planets and thus helping us to trace the evolution of these planetary systems and study if the new detected planets would be likely to have the conditions to have liquid water at the present time or at any moment of their history.
