- Investigating the Disk -- Halo Connection in Galaxies using Numerical Simulations.
- Research Interest
My research interest lies in the field of galaxy formation and evolution. I am primarily interested in studying the properties of galaxy dark matter halos using stellar bars and stellar streams. For example, the angular momentum of dark matter halos, shapes of dark matter halos, and concentration of dark matter halos of galaxies are related to the properties of the baryonic disk. I study how the disk properties are connected to DM halo properties so that we can use this connection to understand DM halos better.
I investigate this connection using N-Body/SPH simulations, cosmological simulations (FIRE-2, TNG) and various observational probes like the stellar bars, HI rotation curves of galaxies and other disk properties.I am also using the FIRE-2 (Feedback In Realistic Environments) simulations where I study bar formation and destruction in the Milky Way-mass galaxies.
