Environmental Test Facility

Overview


Environmental test facility was augmented under ADITYA project to do the space environmental tests on payload components. The facility contains a well calibrated thermal vacuum chamber for thermal cycling, High temperature hot air oven for baking and Heat treatments, and a vibration shaker for vibration qualification of payload components and for small payloads. The facility was inaugurated and dedicated to the nation by Vice President Shri Venkaiah Naidu on 29th December 2020.

Thermo Vacuum Chamber


Thermal vacuum chamber is mainly used to simulate environmental space conditions. The most common applications of a Thermal Vacuum Chamber (TVC) are related to the tests of payload performance, control of the thermal cycle and testing of components, subsystems, and complete satellites in a fully controlled environment. The tests are able to accurately reproduce the conditions of the space through the simultaneous control of two environmental parameters: Pressure and Temperature.

Vibration Shaker

Shaker is used for discovering the early faults, simulating the actual launch loads and the structure strength test, the product application is wide & test effect is remarkable and reliable. Sine wave, FM, sweep, programmable, frequency multiplier, logarithm, maximum acceleration, amplitude modulation, time control, full function computer control, simple fixed acceleration/fixed amplitude tests can be done. Designed around cutting-edge hydrostatic bearing technology and they cover 6000Kgf force rating with air-cooled technology.
