Delphinus server is to be primarily used for data processing/analysis operations.

  • Memory: 64 GB (4 x 16GB) 2133 MHz DDR4
  • Storage: 4 x 4 TB 6Gb/s NL-SAS hot-plug hard disks in RAID-5. 10TB of total disk space.
  • Operating System: Centos 7 (64bit)

Astronomy software collection

  • IRAF v216 : Run mkiraf if you are a first time user. Afterwards, run "xgterm" to open iraf terminal and proceed as usual. Set by default for all users. SolarSoft (complete)a set of integrated software libraries, data bases, and system utilities which provides a common programming and data analysis environment for Solar Physics
    • Setup Instructions: change your shell to csh (init files of solarsoft are all for csh), define your instruments by setting the environment variables.
    • HEAsoft 6.19 (complete), a software suite consisting of various X-ray Astronomical data analysis packages like FTOOLS/FV, XIMAGE, XRONOS, XSPEC and XSTAR
    • Setup Instructions: run the command "heainit" to start using heasoft
    • XMM-SAS 15.0 is a collection of tasks, scripts and libraries, specifically designed to reduce and analyze data collected by the XMM-Newton observatory.
    • Setup Instructions: run the command "sasinit" to start using XMM-SAS
    • FSSC v10r0p5 : The Fermi Science Support Center (FSSC) runs the guest investigator program, creates and maintains the mission time line, provides analysis tools for the scientific community, and archives and serves the Fermi data.
    • Setup Instructions: run the command "fermiinit" to start using Fermi.
    • CASA 4.6.0 the Common Astronomy Software Applications package for data post-processing needs of Radio telescopes and interferometers.
    • Setup Instructions: run the command "casainit" to start using CASA
