SCOPE has organised two national conferences on astronomy outreach which are of topical interest. The first, which is the "Public Engagement in Astronomy in the Pandemic Era", was organised in Aug 2021 in a purely online mode during the pandemic and featured talks and discussions on innovative astronomy outreach initiatives carried out by communicators across the country. The second, on "Astro-Tourism and Astro-Entrepreneurship in India", was organised in hybrid mode in March 2024 and featured talks by many astronomy entrepreneurs across India as well as upcoming astro-tourism projects, while showcasing IIA's Hanle Dark Sky Reserve as well.
SCOPE organises two series of seminars apart from a number of individual online talks. These are the "Astronomy Talk Series in Indian Languages" (ATSIL) and the "IIA SCOPE Seminar Series" (ISSS).
ATSIL, started during the pandemic, is a series of talks, each of which is in a different (non-English) language. We have had 8 so far, in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali, Marathi, Urdu, and Gujarati. Click here for all the ATSIL videos.
ISSS is a series featuring talks on outreach pedagogy and practices, as well as on novel outreach projects and initiatives.Click here for all the ISSS talk videos.
