Research Interest (s) : Myy research is focussed on understanding how galaxy dynamics affects the evolution of galaxies. To accomplish this I have been doing multiwavelength observations of galaxies and simulating galaxy evolution with N-body codes. My present interests are mainly barred galaxies, low surface brightness (LSBGs), merging/interacting galaxies and star formation in galaxies, especially low density environments such as the outer disks of spiral galaxies. I am especially interested in understanding the mass and spin of dark matter halos, and how they affect galaxy disks. Both simulation studies and observations of LSBGs are important for this. In the field of interacting galaxies, I study the end stage of mergers when two or multiple nuclei are surrounded by a common envelope, leading to dual or multiple AGN systems. I also study star formation in spirals, especially in low density, halo dominated regions.Student(s): Past : M.Honey, Rubinur Khatun, Sandeep Kataria.
