Research Interest (s) : My research focus is on extragalactic astronomy. I am mostly interested in the morphological transformation of galaxies and work largely on Lenticular (S0) galaxies. My other research interests are in the field of Super Massive Black Holes, Super Star Clusters, and their co-evolution with galaxies. I love to work in the field of transients and am interested in the electromagnetic detection of gravitational wave transients. I am part of GROWTH (Global Network of Observatories Watching Transients Happen) and work with GROWTH India Project. I am interested in data-driven astronomy and big data. The primary purpose of such initiative is to facilitate access to the multi-wavelength astronomical data from various telescopes as well as develop tools for dealing with them. At present, I am working to develop an archival system for data produced by various telescopes operated by IIA. It is required to take advantage of the recent data avalanche in the field of multi-wavelength astronomy. Under such initiative, I led a team to develop a proposal management system for IIA telescopes and a 3.6-meter DOT telescope.
