Payload Sub-systems

SPG: Students in electronics lab

Every mission requires its own subsystems. In our endeavor to develop low cost payloads for astronomy, we are also developing in-house sub-systems that are space worthy and affordable.

Once developed and tested, the design and software of these systems will be released as open source so that the world wide space community may use these and customize as per their requirements. Community involvement also help in keeping these systems up to date and compatible with the industry requirements.

StarBerry Sense

StarBerry Sense is a star sensor based on Raspberry Pi. The prototype was built using commercial off-the-shelf components including a raspberry pi zero W and its CMOS sensor module. This instrument was successfully tested on the PSLV Orbital Experimental Module (POEM) on-board PSLV-C55 in April 2023.
