Optical design is one of the major areas of work. Expertise is available in designing various telescope systems from single element to multi element system along with the suitable correctors. Some of the recent Optical designs are the field corrector for 50'' (F/1.45) Spherical mirror for Scanner Telescope and UVIT of the ASTROSAT payload.

Specializes in design and construction of various astronomical instruments, such as photometers, interferometers, optical profilometers and spectrographs etc.
